The Parkside Specialist Teacher Outreach Service (STOS) team is a group of experienced educators dedicated to supporting inclusion and equitable learning outcomes for ORS-funded ākonga within mainstream school settings across Franklin and South Auckland.
Our team brings extensive experience across both mainstream and specialist education, with backgrounds spanning early childhood, primary, and secondary settings. We hold qualifications in Complex Educational Needs and engage in ongoing professional learning and development to ensure our practices remain responsive and evidence-based. We support schools through:
adapting the curriculum and modifying assessment to meet diverse learning needs
developing and implementing IEPs that reflect learner strengths, priorities, and whānau aspirations
modelling inclusive practice and building teacher capability through co-teaching, coaching, and mentoring
delivering evidence-based programmes focused on communication, emotional regulation, and positive behaviour support
providing professional learning in areas such as trauma-informed practice, culturally responsive teaching, and inclusive pedagogy
Grounded in the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and He Pikorua, our shared goal is to remove barriers to learning and promote genuine inclusion for every learner.
